DJing on a laptop is now becoming quite commonplace. As long as the DJ rocks the party, it doesn’t really matter what’s playing the music. Similar to choosing a favorite mixer or CD deck, the DJ software ( virtual dj pro v 7.0 ) market has just as many options. Virtual DJ sometimes gets a bad press. Maybe it’s because the manufacturers and developers, Atomix, began many many years ago making some seriously toy-like DJ software of the same name.
Maybe it’s because the company doesn’t have “pedigree” by not being an all-round electronic musician’s software developer like Native Instruments. Maybe it’s just because the “Virtual DJ” name itself gets “real” DJs’ backs up.

Virtual DJ pro v 7.0 is a full featured DJ software for the Mac & PC. All of the features that any digital DJ would need are included. You can control the software with a MIDI controller, timecode CDs, or the mouse. You can play audio files and music videos. You can use one or more sound cards at one time. All of these come with the software, no need to pay extra for these features. This puts them ahead of the other products where time code or video is considered a paid upgrade.
Virtual DJ is an amazing piece of DJ software. It is very easy to get up and running mixing audio and video. The sound quality is punchy, the picture quality is clear, the beat matching is flawless, and stability is unstoppable. For my entire experience to be fully complete, I feel I needed to buy a different controller and video mixer than the ones I already owned. But this may a be a testament to how expandable this software really is.
If you are in the market for a new video mix setup, Virtual DJ pro V 7.0 will do the job just as well as the larger hardware solutions. Make sure to plan the audio card, video output and controller in advance, and you will have a killer system ready to rock any party.
